About Me

I am currently a Portfolio Director at an educational testing firm in Durham, NC. Realizing the importance of leveraging data to drive business decisions, I decided to update my current skill set to include programming and data analysis skills via a 6-month intensive program at the University of North Carolina. This experience has provided me with the tools necessary to gather, manipulate and present data in a way that enables data-driven decision making. I'm always looking for opportunities to use and expand my knowledge in this area.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and cooking.

In this project, we used JavaScript and DOM Manipulation to display alien sightings from a very large dataset. Users can search the data using various filtering criteria and page through the results.

Weather Analysis

Weather Analysis Dashboard

For this homework we created a visualization dashboard website using visualizations we've created in a past assignment to analyze how weather varies based on proximity to the equator. We used Python, Pandas, OpenWeather API, JSON, matplotlib, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap to create 7 individual pages and a means by which we can navigate between them.

Mission to Mars

Mission to Mars

This project involved a web application build that scraped various websites for data related to Mars which was then displayed on a single HTML page. Scraping and analysis were completed using Jupyter Notebook, BeautifulSoup, Pandas, and Requests/Splinter. Mongo DB with Flask templating was used to create the HTML page that displays the data scraped from the various websites.
